MRCS had the chance to attend the IHR Joint External Evaluation (JEE) workshop which was held at the Central Facility of FSM Congress, Pohnpei. The workshop lasted for 2 days July 13-14, 2017. Proposed participants of the workshop are representatives from all relevant ministries and departments.

MRCS Staff and Youth Volunteers are joining the World Humanitarian Day (Aug.19) campaign around #NotATarget hashtag, which focuses on the protection of volunteers and humanitarian workers who are risking their lives at the service of others.

August 19 is World Humanitarian Day (WHD), a day traditionally dedicated to remembering and recognising humanitarian workers who have lost their lives in the service of others, and to advocate for their protection.
This year, the United Nations is organising a campaign around the hashtag #NotATarget, which was launched last year by MSF following the hospital bombing in Kunduz, Afghanistan, and which asked for the protection of health workers, facilities and patients. In this year’s campaign, the hashtag will expand beyond medical workers to encompass all civilian groups living in conflict zones.
